Doctor news
Dr McWalter leaves us after her second six months as our Registrar at the end of July. We thank her for her hard work and trust she found her time useful and enjoyable. We wish her well in the future which she is to spend initially in the Darlington area.
In August we welcome Dr Eseonu as our new Registrar. She is an experienced doctor who wishes to pursue a career in General Practice after further training with us and in relevant hospital posts.
VACCINATION NEWS
As you will have seen in the media there is a vaccine due to be launched in October against the C strain of Meningococcal Meningitis
Initially newborn babies will be inoculated then children will be called in turn. The local health authority will coordinate supplies and clinics so information will follow in due course.
Asthma treatment - CFC-free
In the next few months we will be converting those on aerosol inhalers of Ventolin (Salbutamol ) and Bricanyl (Terbutaline) to CFC free equivalents. The new inhalers are designed to give the same dose but may taste slightly different. The old aerosols are banned under international convention so once they are used up no more will be made.
Repeat prescriptions- please order early
We have recently installed new computer software for repeat prescriptions . It will not allow prescriptions to be printed if the doctor has not authorised them. It is therefore more difficult to process prescriptions in a rush. Please allow several days as ordering late causes disruption and holds up everyone else.
