This website contains medical and administrative information for the benefit of patients registered with our practice. If you are visiting the site and you are not an NHS patient of ours then you are welcome to browse through the material and follow the links but this is no substitute for consulting your own Physician or GP.
We strive to ensure that the information on this site is accurate and appropriate but we cannot accept responsibility for any harm caused by its use. We do believe that there are many minor conditions which can be safely dealt with by patients themselves and which only require symptomatic treatment whilst nature takes its course in providing a cure. However, if you suspect that the patient may have a more serious problem, is not responding to simple treatments or you just feel uneasy about what the problem might be then for our NHS patients there is a doctor available 24 hours a day every day who can be contacted for individually tailored advice. He or she may advise you on home treatment or alternatively may offer a consultation at the surgery or Primary Care Centre.
In case of serious illness which confines the patient to the house the doctor may offer a home visit but this will be his or her decision and based upon a careful assessment of medical need. Do expect to be asked detailed questions and except in the case of young children or the very sick do be prepared to allow the doctor to talk directly to the patient. A home visit is not an automatic right as at times the visiting doctor may be very busy and several patients can be dealt with in surgery during the time it takes to visit one patient at home. If the doctor assesses the situation as warranting a visit rest assured you will be visited. Full information will assist the doctor to decide upon the degree of urgency required.
Our emergency number is published in our practice leaflet and in the local telephone directories.
Any observations may be sent by Email but beware this is not necessarily picked up daily.
